Undergrounding prevents wildfires by eliminating the risk of power lines arcing during high winds and hot weather.

Conversion to underground utilities is part of the General Plan for the Town of Ross because it reduces liability for fire, improves public safety, and reduces the need for tree removal.

It also improves aesthetics, preserves the natural environment, and reduces the need for power shutoffs.

The Town of Ross is willing to contribute $25K, and help organize the engineers and road work.
